Kawasaki’s litre-class track machine, the Ninja ZX-10R has won three World Superbike Championships in a row. Owing to its racing credentials, this motorcycle is one of the most sought after machines in its segment. The design is clearly ninja with the black and green Kawasaki Racing Team livery. The motorcycle is powered by a 998cc in-line four heart that pumps out 200PS of power at 13,000rpm. With RAM air assist, the power at the same rpm goes up by 10PS. Peak torque of 113.5Nm comes at 11,500rpm. The engine works in tandem with Bosch’s 6-axis inertial measurement unit that communicates with various rider aids.

These include the Sports Kawasaki Traction Control (S-KTRC) system with 5 modes, Kawasaki Intelligent Anti-lock Brake System (KIBS), Kawasaki Launch Control Mode (KLCM), Kawasaki Engine Braking Control (KEBC), Kawasaki Quick Shifter (KQS) and more. Ohlins Electronic Steering Damper (ESD). Talking of damping, the motorcycle uses BFRC Lite gas-charged monoshock with fully adjustable Showa balance free front forks and horizontal back-link. Brakes include dual 330mm discs and 220mm rear disc with Brembo radial calipers. The motorcycle rivals the Honda CBR1000RR, Yamaha YZF-R1, Suzuki GSX-R1000, Ducati Panigale V4, Aprilia RSV4 RR and the BMW S 1000 RR.

Japanese custom house Naps Sports has created a limited-run all-carbon body kit for it. The price of Suzuki Hayabusa is Rs 16,90,000 (Ex-showroom Delhi). It is available in three color schemes: Metallic Thunder Grey/Candy Daring Red, Metallic Matte Black No.2/Glass Sparkle Black, and Pearl Vigor Blue/Pearl Brilliant White. All color options are priced the same. The BS6.2-compliant version is Rs 49,000 more expensive than the BS6 bike.

BMW S 1000 RR

BMW S 1000 RR

The BMW S 1000 RR is a supersport from the German bike manufacturer that aims to rule the track. The 2023 iteration gets slightly updated styling and sharper bodywork. It also gets a twin-LED headlamp setup while the tail lamps are integrated into the rear turn indicators. Additionally, it gets winglets inspired from the M 1000 RR. In addition to this, the bike comes equipped with a Bluetooth-enabled 6.5-inch color TFT instrument console, a new twin-spar aluminum frame, subframe and WSBK-inspired swingarm. The new bike also gets a new slide control function and brake slide assist. The 999cc inline-four motor produces 209.3PS, which is 2.72PS higher than the previous model. The peak torque of 113Nm remains the same. Underpinnings include 45 mm USD fork and monoshock suspension setup along with twin 320 mm discs at the front and a 220 disc at the rear for braking.

The Kawasaki Hypersport range of motorcycles sold in India has received a price hike for 2019. For starters, the base-spec Ninja H2 has got a price hike of Rs 1.69 lakh for 2019. With this, the price of the bike has gone up to Rs 34.99 lakh. Previous price Rs 33.3 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom). On the other hand, the H2 Carbon costs Rs 41.79 lakh, while the range-topping H2R costs Rs 75.8 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi). For 2019, the Japanese bike maker has increased the power of the H2 and H2 Carbon from 205PS to 231PS (without ram air). With RAM Air, the power has gone up from 215PS to 243PS! Peak torque has also been increased from 133.5Nm to 141.7Nm.

Ducati Panigale V4

Ducati offers the Panigale V4 in Standard, S and R variants. The standard variant is priced at Rs 26,49,000, the V4 S is priced at Rs 31,99,000 and the top-of-the-line V4 R is priced at Rs 69,99,000, all prices ex-showroom, pan India . The Panigale V4 gets several riding aids like traction control, wheelie control, cornering ABS, slide control, launch control and a quickshifter as standard. All these ride accessories are connected to the IMU to give the rider a better grip on the rocketship. All this can be controlled through the switchcube and color 5-inch TFT screen located on the left clip-on bar.
