Summer in Bihar became a disaster for farmers, crops on the verge of drying up, know what is the government’s preparation

Bihar News: In Bihar, the heat has broken the record of 11 years in the month of June. Due to less rain, paddy cultivation has been affected the most. So far, the pace of planting of paddy straw has not caught up. So far in June, there has been 83 per cent less rainfall than normal. At the same time, due to the scorching heat, the paddy straws put in the fields are also drying up. In such a situation, Agriculture Minister Kumar Sarvjit has told that the farmers do not need to worry much. The government is making arrangements to help them.

Government prepared for drought situation

The agriculture department is fully prepared in case of drought. The department has made an arrangement of Rs 250 crore. 50 crore is with the Agriculture Department and 200 crore with the Disaster Department. If the government announces drought in the state, we will give Rs 250 crore as relief to the farmers. This amount will be given as diesel subsidy. With this, farmers will be able to do Patwan. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav have clearly said that if needed, even Rs 500 crore will be given as compensation to the farmers. Due to the hot winds, some farmers are not putting litter. Only women can save from this leela of nature. Women and Jeevika Didi can balance climate change by planting trees.

Government is motivating farmers for coarse grains

The Agriculture Minister has said that the rains have decreased and the rains will be less in the future as well. For this reason, we are motivating the farmers for coarse grains. The department has been instructed to distribute the seeds of coarse grains. 17 percent paddy seeds have been distributed in the entire state. Seeds are available in all the blocks of Bihar. Due to the strike of farmer coordinators, the problems faced in seed distribution have been resolved. Farmers can go to the block headquarters and pick up the seeds as per the demand. Instructions have been given to distribute maize seeds in the districts where maize is being cultivated in the flood-affected areas.

Farmers will get relief from agriculture feeder

Agriculture feeder is being made in the state. This will give a lot of relief to the farmers. We demand from the Energy Department that the work of feeder construction should be completed soon. The Energy Department should complete it as a priority.
