Family members reached the hospital with the delivery at night

The government hospital of Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh has got the status of Government Medical College. But, the level of treatment here has not improved. The state of negligence is such that on Wednesday night, the doctors and staff at the women’s hospital kept resting and the pregnant woman did not get treatment. Ultimately he died. It is being told that Ambalika Verma, wife of Sunil Verma, resident of Katghara village of Gosainganj police station area, was pregnant. When she experienced labor pain on Thursday night, village head Mohammad Shoaib along with her family members reached the Government Medical College around 11 pm and admitted her to the Women’s Hospital. When Ambalika’s family members went to call the doctor and staff when the pain became worse at night, everyone continued to sleep peacefully.

Doctors and nurses were engrossed in sleeping instead of treatment

According to family members, despite repeated requests, the doctor and other medical staff agreed to delivery in the morning and then got busy sleeping. Meanwhile, the condition of the pregnant woman worsened late in the night and by morning she died. The family members are shocked by the death of the mother and child and they are in a bad condition, crying. The mother-in-law of the deceased woman told that when they went to the doctor and told about the worsening of the patient’s condition, he scolded her and sent her away. If treatment had been received on time, the mother and child could have survived. Or else he would have been asked to go to another hospital, at least his life would have been saved.

Pregnant woman’s life could have been saved

In this regard, village head Mohammad Shoaib said that Ambalika Verma was admitted to the hospital late on Wednesday night. Once or twice he himself asked the doctor to see the pregnant woman. But, he was careless and wrote an inquiry. Then after examination the doctor was again consulted. But, he did not see the patient. After a lot of pressure, he looked at me and asked me to give him some castor oil. When he brought castor oil, the other doctor refused and said that the delivery would take place in the morning. The woman’s hands and legs started becoming numb during the night itself. On this a request was again made to the doctor. But no one came and everyone remained busy sleeping. Later the mother died due to lack of treatment. Had care not been taken, the woman’s life could have been saved.
