Sugarcane farmers in Muzaffarnagar owe Rs 220 crore, Rakesh Tikait warns if payment is not made

Rakesh Ticket: Rakesh Tikait, national spokesperson of Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU), has warned about the demand for payment of sugarcane dues. On Saturday, he said that if the sugarcane dues of the farmers are not paid within 20 days, then the farmers will not give their sugarcane to the mill and will start depositing it at the District Magistrate’s office and the mill will be locked and the factory gate will be welded.

He further said that this strike will continue for several days, the mills have been given 20 days, if the payment is not made then the farmers will not give sugarcane to the Bajaj Sugar Factory. Farmers will express their displeasure by taking out a tractor march in the district. He said that the farmer will go to the District Magistrate’s office of Muzaffarnagar with the sugarcane.

Farmers owe 220 crores on sugar mill

Let us tell you that the Bajaj Sugar Mill located in Budhana Tehsil of Muzaffarnagar is pending payment of sugarcane of Rs 220 crore to the farmers. Because of which the farmers are on strike for the last 90 days at the gate of the mill for payment. During the demonstration on Saturday, officials of the mill and district administration held talks with the farmers at the panchayat site. In which the farmers have given 20 days time to pay the payment to the mill.

There will be lockout if payment is not made on time – Tikait

The spokesperson of the Bharatiya Kisan Union said that the payment has been held up for one year. If payment is not made on time, farmers will lock out the sugar factory. So far, 220 crore sugarcane payment is due on Bajaj Sugar Mill. The officials of the sugar mill have talked about giving only Rs 20 crore. There is anger among the farmers because of this, the farmers have refused to give sugarcane to the sugar factory here.

Tikait targeted the government

Tikait said that the government has crossed the limits of insensitivity. Sugar mills are not paying the farmers. The state government is also sitting silently. Farmers of the area are upset due to non-payment of outstanding sugarcane price. He does not have money to solve children’s marriage, education and other problems. More than 220 crore arrears are going on in Budhana’s sugar mill. Farmers have also been protesting for several months, but till now the mill administration has fallen on deaf ears.

Rakesh Tikait explained about One Nation One Election

At the same time, Rakesh Tikait has made a big attack on the One Nation One Election proposal proposed by the Central Government in Mainpuri. In fact, in the Narendra Modi government of the Center, it is seen advocating simultaneous elections in the country. Meaning, the plan to hold the Lok Sabha elections to the assembly and body elections together is being considered. For this, there is talk of forming a committee under the chairmanship of the former President. It is believed that this can also be considered in the special session of Parliament.

Rakesh Tikait presented this issue in his own style. He presented this type of proposal as giving more powers to the President. He said that the government will give more power to the President through One Nation One Election. He expressed apprehension that wherever the opposition government is formed, it will be toppled. The opposition government will be toppled within a year. Will rule such states by imposing President’s rule for the next four years.

If the government does well then it will win

Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait said that this type of system is not right. The farmer leader also gave his reaction regarding the Lok Sabha elections and Ghosi by-election. He said that whoever wants to contest the election, this is their election. He said that if the government does things right, the people will go with them. No opposition to G-20

The farmer leader said that G-20 is an international programme. Happens in every country. He said that this time India has got a chance to lead the country. Rakesh Tikait said that a big message is going out in the world regarding this. We have no objection regarding this. However, Tikait attacked the central government on the issue of appointment of the Election Commissioner. He said that the government wants to exercise its right over every institution.

The opposition will have to come down to the ground

Regarding the opposition alliance INDIA, farmer leader Rakesh Tikait said that the opposition parties will have to fight unitedly. However, it was also said that the alliance is not visible on the ground yet. He said that not a single shell of tear gas was fired. There are still many issues. There are no issues of farmer organizations only in the country. There are many issues, about which there is a need to come on the road. He said that sleeping at home will not work.

The struggle will have to start on the streets. The opposition should be strong. Rakesh Tikait said that if the opposition is weak then dictators will be born. The biggest occupants are people from BJP and Sangh. He said that save your land from BJP and Sangh people. The opposition should prepare the way for the movement. We should stand up and protest against the shortcomings of the central government. He said that we are away from politics. He suggested the opposition alliance to fight unitedly to gain power.
