Juhi Smita, Patna

Ashutosh Singh, resident of Ghazipur Gahmar, Ashish, resident of Bihta and Avinash Kumar, resident of Madhubani, decided to leave their jobs with packages worth lakhs and start their own startup. All three belonged to rural background. In such a situation, when they came back, they conducted a field survey to find out how and where to start. While talking to the farmers, he came to know about pond culture i.e. fish farming, after which he stepped into the field of fish farming. Started rearing of Indian Major Carp and Jasar fish in 12 acres of pond in Bihta and 16 acres of Ara. From this they are earning an income of more than Rs 30 lakh per year. Recently he took 30 bighas of land at another place which he will prepare for fish farming by January next year. Their target is to provide employment to some people with an income of Rs 50 lakh in the year 2023-24.

Returned to live with his family and employ people

Ashutosh Singh says that all three of us friends used to work at different places. I have studied Electronics and Communication Engineering from JNT Hyderabad, while Ashish has done Software Engineering from GIC Belgaum and Avinash has done M.Tech from AIIMS Trichy. Everyone missed their village and home. After which they thought of leaving their jobs and doing something that would generate income and also not require them to stay away from home. In the year 2020, all three left their jobs and joined this field.,

Market available since Corona period

He further explains that fish farming was not easy. Did not want to give any land for the pond. Most of the farmers said that the land would get spoiled. Land was obtained on lease with great difficulty. When the work started, the fish started dying. At this time, fish farming became successful with the advice of experts. Corona started when we all were building the pond. It seemed that all the hard work would go in vain but it did not happen. Where during the Corona period, the arrival of fish from other states started decreasing. At that time, fish production had started in our pond. All our fish are now sold in the local market. Right now the demand in the market is high and supply is less. In such a situation, the fish coming from our ponds gets sold quickly in the market. The fishermen take out the fish between 2:30 and 3 in the night and it is in the market at 4 in the morning. Due to this, a total of 20 people are getting employment in Bihta and Arrah.
