Lucknow : In Uttar Pradesh, the education department has now made preparations to give unique student ID to every child like Aadhaar. A digital account of the child will be opened through the ID, which has been named as ‘Avsar’ (Accrued Verified Student Achievement Record). Through this ID, which is generated during the admission of the child for the first time, the record of the child from any educational institution of the state till his last degree can be tracked.
This proposed ‘Opportunity’ program of Basic Education Department has got green signal after presentation in front of CM Yogi Adityanath. Soon it will be placed before the cabinet for formal approval.
An official associated with the scheme told that the school will generate the ID of the child at the time of his first admission. The details of his educational progress will be posted in the digital account linked to it. After primary, unique ID will be made mandatory for admission at every level of education till secondary and higher education.
For example, to fill the form of board examination or for admission in the university, it is mandatory to enter the details of the unique ID. It will be the responsibility of the concerned institution to upload the details of the student’s academic progress, marksheets, certificates, etc. in the account of the institution where the student will take admission. This system will be applicable in all private and government institutions.
Also necessary for the benefits of the schemes
Unique ID will be used as the identity of the student in scholarship and other government schemes. This exercise will prevent the misuse of schemes related to duplication, mid-day meal or scholarship in admission. With all the documents of the student being digitally available, the process of verification during the job will be completed automatically.
Out of school or dropout can also be tracked through this. While Vijay Kiran Anand, (DG School Education) said that through ‘Opportunity’ we will connect all the children with a unique identity. It will be made compulsory at every level of education. ID will not only ease the educational process, verification, but will also help in making the schemes more transparent.
What is the plan?
Students studying in council schools and madrassas will be fed data for a unique ID by the education department. Now if the child is in class one in the school, then at the same time a unique number will be fixed for him. The same unique ID will continue till his final education i.e. high school intermediate graduation etc. In the month of July all the process will be completed on U Dice Plus and by August the unique ID number will be decided.

This unique identification number will have the complete horoscope of the students. The student is studying in any school or any city, it can be easily traced through this number. It is often seen that parents enroll their children in council schools as well as private schools. In this, the education department does not have the complete count of the students. By doing this, the matter will be caught with the ID.
With the introduction of this system, students will get admission in only one school. Not only this, at some places these students used to study in some class and at some places they got enrolled in some other class. Now forgery will not happen in the name of admission. The aim of the state government is to track the students who drop out of school. Along with this, all the beneficiaries of government schemes will also be known correctly. Along with this, fraud in the schemes can be easily stopped. Through the unique ID, the government will keep a close watch on the children.
This is an initiative of the central government
Significantly, the central government is planning to start a unique student ID system for students in August this year, so that the use of fake certificates can be curbed. From August the unique student ID will be linked to the Aadhaar card. Just like Aadhaar gives a unique identity to an individual, students will be provided with an Aadhaar-based unique student ID.
This digitization system not only brings transparency but also curbs the use of fake certificates to secure jobs. Apart from this, the students will not have to fill the admission form in the same state or while changing the educational institution. Student information can be checked online. Apart from this, this system will help in knowing the authenticity of the students.
