In this connection, very soon the department will conduct eye test of commercial or normal vehicle drivers while making driving license. That means it will be made mandatory for people of all ages. At present, there is a rule to take medical certificate from people above 40 years of age who are applying for a driving license, but ignoring this, driving licenses are issued across the state. The department has also instructed all the districts to strictly follow this rule.
Medical certificate will have to be taken from government doctors
According to departmental officials, while renewing the driving license after the age of 40, the medical certificate from government doctors will be valid. The department will soon change the rules regarding this also. At present, those who seek renewal in the name of medical certificate get it written by any doctor or not, yet all the work is done through the broker. For this reason the department has taken this decision.
Road accidents occur more at night
Most of the accidents occur between 6 pm to 6 am on various roads in the state. 37 percent people die in this. According to departmental sources, people face difficulty in driving in the evening due to low lighting on the roads and lack of signage. In such a situation, people who have poor eyesight face the most problems and they suddenly turn the vehicle straight. Hits straight.
During road safety, drivers of trucks, buses and big vehicles are checked.
On the instructions of the Transport Department, during road safety, eye check-up camps are organized for people driving trucks, buses or any kind of big vehicle. He was also given spectacles by the department and instructed to wear spectacles while driving, so that accidents can be avoided.
