FIR registered in case of damage to Shivaji’s statue
Kanyakumari SP Hari Kiran Prasad said, we do not know whether it has been vandalized or not. There is some damage to the idol. We have registered a case and formed a team to find out if there are miscreants or what actually happened. Police personnel have been mobilized to maintain law and order. We are investigating further.
Demand for arrest of miscreants
A protest is being held at Vattavilai near Kulliturai in Kanyakumari district demanding the arrest of the miscreants who vandalized the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji. A large number of protesters gathered at one place in the district.

Statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji was stolen from a park in America
In February this year, a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji was stolen from a park in America. Later the idol was found in a famous junkyard. This was the only statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji in America. In 1999, the statue of Shivaji was gifted to San Jose from Pune.
