State level wrestling competition begins in Gorakhnath temple for the honor of Uttar Pradesh Kesari

Gorakhpur : The wrestling competition held every year in Gorakhnath temple started on Sunday. Wrestlers from all over the state are showing their strength in this state level competition. The winner of the last wrestling competition will be awarded Rs 1.01 lakh and a mace along with the honor of Uttar Pradesh Kesari. 51 thousand rupees will be given to the runner-up. The winning wrestler of the Veer Abhimanyu category will be given Rs 51,000 and mace while the runner-up will be given Rs 25,000 as prize.

The wrestling competition to be held in different categories was inaugurated by Mayor Dr. Manglesh Srivastava after getting the introduction of the wrestlers. This year’s wrestling competition is state level. After the launch, the wrestlers started the riot by adopting bets and tricks. During this, Uttar Pradesh Sports Director Dr. RP Singh, Yogi Kamal Nath, the head priest of Gorakhnath Temple, Prof. UP Singh, President of Maharana Pratap Parishad and many people were present.

The final match of the two-day wrestling competition will be held on Monday. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will be the chief guest. CM Yogi will also reward fellow winning players for encouraging the players in the final competition. Every year on Nag Panchami wrestling competition has been going on in Gorakhnath temple. This tradition has an old association with Gorakhnath temple. This year also a two-day state level wrestling competition has been organized. Wrestlers from different divisions, hostels and sports colleges of the state have participated.

Giving information about the wrestling competition, Sports Director Dr. RP Singh said that this wrestling competition is being held in three categories. Uttar Pradesh Kesari (above 74 kg), Uttar Pradesh Kumar (60 to 70 kg) and Veer Abhimanyu (50 to 60 kg and below 15 years) will compete in different categories. Wrestlers from different places of the state are taking part in this.

The winning wrestler of Uttar Pradesh Kesari will be given Rs 1.01 lakh and mace as prize. The runner-up will get 51 thousand.
