The world famous Harihar Kshetra Sonpur fair will be formally concluded on Tuesday by Bihar Government’s Science and Technology Minister cum Minister in-charge of Saran, Sumit Kumar Singh. This closing ceremony will be held at 4:30 pm. Saran DM Aman Sameer gave this information on Monday. He told that before this, a 20-point meeting has been organized at the District Magistrate’s fair camp from 1:30 pm. Minister Sumit Kumar Singh will also participate in this. Apart from many MPs, MLAs and ministers, other dignitaries will be present in the closing ceremony. After the closing ceremony, a cultural program will also be organized from the main stage of the Tourism Department. Let us tell you that the official period of both the 32 posts of Sonpur fair will end on Tuesday.

In the concluding session, Indian Idol winner Pawandeep and Indian Idol fame Arunita Kanjiwala will perform on the main stage of the Tourism Department. Nearly four lakh people enjoyed the fair on Christmas holiday

Due to Christmas holiday on Monday after Sunday, a huge crowd of people was seen in the fair and everyone enjoyed it to the fullest. Three to four lakh people visited the fair throughout the day and did a lot of shopping. After 12 noon, every step was seen moving towards the fair and as time progressed, the crowd of people in the fair also increased. By 1 o’clock in the afternoon, the fair witnessed an unprecedented crowd and everyone had to struggle to move forward. Most of the people were seen enjoying the fair with their families. People were also seen enhancing their knowledge at the exhibitions of various departments organized in the fair.

Children enjoyed the swing

Even on Monday, everyone at the fair had to fight the crowd. Crowds of customers were seen at every shop. On one hand, children were seen enjoying the various types of swings installed in the fair, while majority of the children satiated their curiosity by seeing the well of death and the magician along with their parents. Apart from this, children everywhere did not miss any opportunity for entertainment and had a lot of fun with their families. Some took a train ride in the Rail Village, while others enjoyed sitting on a horse and bull.

Women were also seen purchasing sweaters, cardigans and blankets etc. at woolen clothing shops. Women did a lot of shopping in the fair till late evening.

There was crowd at food shops also

On Monday, crowds were seen everywhere in the fair, but the biggest crowd was seen at the food shops. Thousands of people enjoyed the Litti-Chokha prepared by Jeevika Didi at Gram Shree Mandap and the customers had to wait a long time to eat Litti-Chokha at this counter. The Khaja of Supaul installed in the same pavilion was also sold well.

Apart from popcorn, air sweets, children enjoyed ice cream and cream, while at many places children were seen enjoying chaat, chowmin, burger, pizza, dosa, momos. The biggest crowd was seen at Mian Sweet shops, where hundreds of customers were seen all the time. Mian sweets ranging from Rs 120 per kg to Rs 350 per kg were available at these shops and customers purchased Mian sweets as per their taste.

People increased their knowledge by spending time in exhibitions

People increased their knowledge by spending time at the exhibitions organized by various government departments in the fair. In the exhibition of the Education Department, people got information related to Safe Saturday besides the objectives of establishment of Government and Kasturba Gandhi Girls Residential Schools. A photograph related to the upgraded middle school Ishupur of Dighwara was also displayed in this exhibition. Apart from this, people were seen enhancing their knowledge at the exhibitions put up at the stalls of departments like Disaster Department, Cooperative Department, City and Housing Department, Art Culture Department, Transport Department, Agriculture Department, Labor Resources Department, Tourism Department, Land Revenue Department, Health Department etc. .
