Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati said that best wishes to all the personalities who were awarded Bharat Ratna and this decision of the government is welcomed. He also said that it is not appropriate to despise and ignore Dalit celebrities especially in this matter. He has reiterated the demand for Kanshi Ram to be honored with Bharat Ratna. He said that Kanshi Ram, who always fought for the interests of the Dalits and the neglected, should also be honored with Bharat Ratna.
