Solar power plant will be set up in Jamui and Banka, department has marked the land

Patna. The land hurdle for setting up solar power plants with a total capacity of 200 MW, including 125 MW in Jamui in Bihar and 75 in Banka, has almost been removed. The Sutlej Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN) associated with the scheme has completed the registration of 231 acres of land in Laxmipur zone against the 500 acres required for Jamui and has issued tender for 75 MW solar power plant. Along with this, the registration process of 225 acres of land in Gadhitelwa of Chakai is being completed against the required 300 acres of land in Banka. The details of the said land have been sought from the Forest Department.

210 MW of green energy by June next year

In some parts of important tourist places like Rajgir, Bodh Gaya and Patna, electricity will be supplied through solar energy for 24 hours. Under this, the state government has tied up with Solar Energy Corporation of India, an agency of the central government. 210 MW of green energy will be supplied. Interestingly, under this agreement, power will be supplied during the day as well as at night. Pumped storage plant is also a part of this project. By June 2024, electricity will start coming from this project.

200 MW capacity unit in December this year

The power company has appointed agency through tender for setting up 250 MW grid connected ground mounted solar power plant. The company which is setting up thermal power unit in Buxar has entered into an agreement with another company for setting up a 200 MW unit with a capacity of 50 MW. According to the target, the construction work of the 200 MW unit will be completed in December this year and the 50 MW unit will be completed in March 2024. A solar power plant will also be set up under the water-life-greenery campaign. For this, a consultant has been appointed for a 450 MW solar power project.
