So far, extremely backward candidates have won only from 12 parliamentary seats in Bihar, know which caste has become the maximum MP.

Manoj Kumar, Patna: In the Lok Sabha elections held in the country since 1952, candidates belonging to the most backward class have won elections from 12 Lok Sabha constituencies of Bihar. 19 MPs have won the elections from these 12 Lok Sabha constituencies. Till 2014, candidates from extremely backward castes won elections only from ten Lok Sabha constituencies.

In the year 2019, candidates belonging to the extremely backward class from Jehanabad and Sitamarhi were successful in winning the elections. Most backward class candidates have represented Kishanganj, Samastipur, Jhanjharpur, Arrah, Muzaffarpur, Munger, Purnia, Bhagalpur, Supaul, Araria, Jehanabad and Sitamarhi Lok Sabha constituencies. In this, the most backward class has represented the most from Muzaffarpur and Jhanjharpur Lok Sabha seats. In this also there is threat from Mandal and Nishad caste.

Lakhanlal Kapoor the first extremely backward MP of the state

In 1967, Lakhanlal Kapoor became MP from the most backward class for the first time by winning from Kishanganj seat. Lakhanlal had defeated Mohd Tahir of Congress. Lakhanlal had also won from Purnia seat in 1977. Lakhanlal Kapoor is also the only Hindu MP who won from Kishanganj.

Karpoori Thakur won from Samastipur

Karpoori Thakur had won from Samastipur in the elections held in 1977. He had defeated Yamuna Prasad Mandal. Dhanik Lal Mandal also got success from Jhanjharpur. Dhanik Lal Mandal had defeated veteran Congress leader Dr. Jagannath Mishra. In 1989, IPF’s Rameshwar Prasad had won from Arrah.

Captain Jayanarayan Nishad won four times and Brahmanand Mandal won twice.

Captain Jayanarayan Nishad had won from Muzaffarpur in 1996, 1998, 1999 and 2009. In 1996 and 1999, Brahmanand Mandal was successful in winning from Munger. In 1998 itself, Jaikrishna Mandal was successful in winning the elections from Purnia. Whereas in 1999, Subodh Rai was the winner from Bhagalpur.

Four extremely backward people became MPs in 2009

In the 2009 elections, four backward classes became MPs. Manglilal Mandal from Jhanjharpur, Vishwamohan Kumar from Supaul, Captain Jayanarayan Nishad from Muzaffarpur and Pradeep Kumar Singh from Araria won.

Three in 2014 and seven in 2019 became MPs.

In the year 2014, Virendra Kumar Chaudhary from Jhanjharpur, Ajay Nishad from Muzaffarpur and Bulo Mandal from Bhagalpur had achieved success. Whereas, in the year 2019, Chandeshwar Prasad Chandravanshi from Jehanabad, Dileshwar Kamait from Supaul, Rampreet Mandal from Jhanjharpur, Sunil Kumar Pintu from Sitamarhi, Ajay Mandal from Bhagalpur, Pradeep Singh from Araria, Ajay Nishad from Muzaffarpur were successful in winning the elections.

113 castes in extremely backward class, no tickets according to population

There are a total of 113 castes in extremely backward class. According to the caste census report, the population of extremely backward people is 36 percent. Experts say that according to the population, people of this category did not get tickets from political parties. For this reason, despite having the largest number, their representation is very less.
