The new generation Skoda Octavia is slightly different from the old model in terms of road presence. It is said that it is more premium than the old model and gives excellent performance. Price of Skoda Octavia: The price of the base model of Skoda Octavia in ex-showroom India is Rs 27.35 lakh. It comes with 1984 cc automatic petrol engine. It is capable of giving a mileage of 15.81 kilometers per litre. At the same time, the price of its top model Skoda Octavia Laurin & Klement is Rs 30.45 lakh. It also comes with a 1984 cc automatic petrol engine and its mileage is also the same as the base model.

Skoda Octavia was first introduced in 1959: Czech Republic’s automobile manufacturer Skoda Auto displayed its luxury car Skoda Octavia at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1959. Octavia is a close-top saloon car and is an updated version of Felicia. These cars were designed after many modifications. It featured leaf spring suspension with front axle and telescopic dampers, which were combined with coil springs. Earlier, Skoda’s saloon car was known as Skoda 440/445. Later its name was changed to Octavia from the Latin number octava. The Latin number octava means eighth. This name was also appropriate on this car because it was the eighth model of the Mlada Boleslav based car manufacturer.

Skoda Felicia appeals more to New Yorkers

Skoda Auto displayed the four-seat armored bodied Skoda Felicia car at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1959 along with the Octavia. It had a 1089 cc 4-cylinder engine with twin carburettor, which is capable of generating a maximum power of 50 HP. The name of this car is taken from the Latin word Felicitas, which means happiness. The Skoda Felicia was an updated version of the company’s open-top Skoda 450. The company had made it for export abroad. It is said that the company had produced only about 1000 units of this car between 1958 and 1959. However, Skoda Felicia is not sold in India.
