Shri Ram had reached Rishyamukh mountain of Palkot, met Sugriva, also faced the false hatred of Mother Shabari.

Gumla: Lord Shri Ram is also associated with Gumla district of Jharkhand. It is said that Shri Ram had also arrived in Gumla. There are many proofs of this. Palkot block, 26 km away from Gumla, whose ancient name is Pampapur. There is Rishyamukh mountain here. Sugriva used to hide on this mountain to escape from his brother Bali, which is called Malamali cave. There is also Shabari Ashram. When Lord Shri Ram along with his brother Lakshman went out in search of Mother Sita, during this time Shri Ram reached Rishyamukh mountain. Here Shri Ram met Sugriva and by killing Bali, he restored his kingdom to Sugriva. Mata Shabari lived there on the top of Rishyamukh mountain. Shri Ram had also met Mata Shabari here and had suffered false hatred from the hands of Mata Shabari. Even today, there is Sugriva cave and Shabari Mata’s ashram in Rishyamukh mountain. Also, on the mountain where Sugriva had knelt down during the war with his brother Bali, there is still a pit made in stone for Sugriva’s knees. Shri Ram had reached Ramrekha Dham in Simdega district via Pampapur. The footprints of Shri Ram are still there in Ramrekha Dham and this place is world famous.

Matangmuni’s conch is still on the mountain

There was a hut of Mata Shabari on the top of Rishyamukh mountain, which has now been converted into a temple. Matangamuni also lived here. The conch of Matangamani is still kept, which tells the story of the Ramayana era. Apart from this, there are Sheetalpur, Malmalpur, Pavitra Nirjhar, Ghodlatta, Hanuman Manda, Gobarsalli, Rakas Tangra, Munidera, Rakas Tuku, Pampa Sarovar, Sugriva Tuku, Shabari Cave.

Shri Ram drank water from Nirjhar waterfall

Water falls from the peak of Rishyamukh mountain throughout the year and remains accumulated. When Lord Shri Ram came to Rishyamukh mountain, he drank the water of this waterless spring. There is also a small Shivalinga inside this waterfall. In summer the water of the entire Palkot block dries up. But, the water in Nirjhar waterfall does not dry up. People of the block headquarters consume this water.

The cave tells the story of Ramyug

Jagarnath Mishra, the priest of Maa Dashbhuji temple, has said that there is an ancient Rishyamukh mountain in Palkot. Here is the Malamali cave, where Sugriva lived in hiding due to fear of King Bali. This cave still tells the story of Ramayana era. On the top of the mountain is Shabari Ashram, where Shri Ram came with his brother Lakshman. He said that Lord Shri Ram had gone to Ramrekha Dham via Palkot.
