Shravani Mela 2023: Railways increased facilities for Shravani Mela, but income decreased by 4 percent

Deoghar, Sanjeev Mishra Keeping in view the possibility of large number of Kanwariyas coming to the Shravani fair and the rush of passengers, the Railways has increased the facilities at Jasidih, Baidyanathdham, Deoghar and Basukinath stations under Asansol division. But, as expected, there were no kanwariyas traveling by train, due to which there was a decrease in both the number of passengers and the income of the railways.

According to the data released by the Asansol Railway Division, 4,81,788 passengers traveled through the four stations in the year 2022 in the first 15 days of the Shravani fair. This earned the Railways an income of Rs 3,98,58,295, whereas from July 4 to July 17 this year only 4,78,458 passengers traveled by train, earning only Rs 3,82,35,015. Passengers figure is 0.69% less than last year. At the same time, the total income was Rs 38235015, which was recorded 4.07% less than in 2022.
