Shehla Rashid composed ballads in praise of Modi government, once raised anti-India slogans in JNU

Shehla Rasheed Along with tweeting in praise of the Modi government, also shared a video of Raees Mattu, brother of Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist. In which Mattu, in a conversation with news agency ANI, talked about hoisting the Indian tricolor and praised the Narendra Modi government at the Center for bringing development in Jammu and Kashmir. Actually Rais Mattu is the brother of terrorist Javed Mattu, who is on top of the list of security agencies in Jammu and Kashmir.

Shehla Rashid came into limelight when anti-India slogans were allegedly raised in JNU in 2016. In that case, the current Congress leaders Kanhaiya Kumar and Umar Khalid were arrested. Shehla Rasheed came in limelight after the same case. Rashid had opened a front against the Central Government and the Delhi Police. Rashid was seen discussing in many TV channels in support of student rights and freedom of expression.

On 5 August 2019, when the Narendra Modi government at the Center announced the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. When at that time Shehla Rashid had made several tweets one after the other in protest against the decision of the Modi government. In which he alleged that people are being terrorized and harassed. Army soldiers are entering people’s houses. People are being assaulted. Alakh Alok Srivastava, a Supreme Court lawyer, had filed a case regarding this tweet of Rashid. In which he alleged that this tweet has been done deliberately for the purpose of inciting violence in the country. In this case, Shehla was later booked for sedition.
