Even in the falling market today, an increase of one percent was seen in the Metal and Oil and Gas index. A decline was also seen in power, realty, healthcare and IT indices. A decline was seen in the BSE midcap and smallcap indices in the Bombay Stock Exchange. However, during trading at 10.30 am, Sensex and Nifty managed to rise above the previous closing level. Among Sensex companies, shares of HCL Technologies, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, NTPC, Reliance Industries, Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services and HDFC Bank declined on Tuesday. Shares of Tata Motors, Bajaj Finance, Maruti and Asian Paints were in profit. In other Asian markets, Japan’s Nikkei, South Korea’s Kospi, China’s Shanghai Composite and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng were in loss. US markets were closed on Monday on the occasion of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Global oil standard Brent crude was trading at $ 78.29 per barrel with a gain of 0.18 percent. According to stock market data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth Rs 1,085.72 crore on Monday.
