Share Market: The bullish phase in the stock market stopped, Sensex fell by 169 points, Nifty closed below 21,411.

Share Market Closing Bell: After last week’s record-breaking rise, today, on the first trading day of the week, both the Indian stock market indices Sensex and Nifty closed with a decline. Sensex closed at 71,315.09 with a fall of 169 points. Whereas, Nifty closed at 21,418.70 with a fall of 38 points. Top losers on the Nifty were Power Grid Corporation, JSW Steel, ICICI Bank, ITC and Tech Mahindra, while gainers included Bajaj Auto, Adani Ports, Sun Pharma, Hindalco Industries and Reliance Industries. Among sectors, Pharma index was up 1 per cent, Capital Goods index was up 0.7 per cent, while Realty index was down 1 per cent and Bank index was down 0.5 per cent. The broader indices outperformed the core indices, with the BSE Midcap index rising 0.3 per cent and the Smallcap index rising 0.5 per cent.
