Share Market: Stock market breaks after record high

Share Market Closing Bell: Today, the Indian stock market made a record in pre-opening amid strong signals from the global market. Sensex crossed 75 thousand for the first time. Whereas, Nifty was also seen jumping beyond 21,600. The bullish phase in the market continued till 12 noon. After this, sharp selling was seen in the auto-FMCG sector in the market. Sensex fell below its opening level after 1.50 pm. Both Nifty and Sensex were seen trying to recover from losses. By the closing bell, the Sensex was down 58.80 points at 74,683.70. Whereas, Nifty fell 24.55 points and closed at 22,641.75. Today 3934 companies were trading in the market. Out of these, 2259 companies closed in loss while the stocks of 1559 companies remained on the rise. During this period, there was no change in the share prices of 116 companies.

How was the condition of Sensex-Nifty?

By the time the market closed on BSE’s 30-share Sensex, stocks of 12 companies closed in profit. Whereas, the shares of 18 companies were seen in red. Mixed trading was seen on Nifty. The maximum growth remained in banking and metal sectors. Whereas, FMCG fell by 336 points. Apart from this, slowdown was also seen in Auto, Pharma, Consumer Durable and Oil & Gas. On Nifty, stocks of Apollo Hospitals, ICICI, Hindalco, Ifsys, Bajaj Finserv and Eicher Motors were among the top gainers. Whereas, stocks of Titan, Hero MotoCorp, Coal India, Reliance and Asian Paints joined the category of top losers.

This morning in the stock market, the 30-share Sensex of BSE had climbed 381.78 points to reach its all-time peak of 75,124.28 points. Whereas, NSE Nifty rose by 99 points to its record peak of 22,765.30. In Asian markets, Japan’s Nikkei 225 and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng were in profit, while China’s Shanghai Composite and South Korea’s Kospi were in loss. The American market closed with mixed sentiment on Monday. Global oil benchmark Brent crude futures were trading at US $ 90.55 per barrel with a gain of 0.19 percent.
