Share Market: Sensex-Nifty closed with slight rise amid slowdown, midcap-small cap took over the market.

Share Market Closing Bell: The Indian stock market started on a sluggish note amid global pressure on the third trading day of the week. After this the uproar continued throughout the day. However, thanks to midcap and smallcap, the market somehow remained stable. The local stock markets remained bullish till the market closed. BSE Sensex gained 33 points. There was volatility in the market due to continued capital withdrawal by foreign institutional investors along with weak trend in the markets of Asia and Europe. BSE Sensex based on 30 shares closed at 64,975.61 points with a gain of 33.21 points or 0.05 percent. During trading, it reached a high of 65,124 points and reached a low of 64,851.06 points. National Stock Exchange’s Nifty also closed at 19,443.50 points with a gain of 36.80 points or 0.19 percent. Out of 50 stocks included in Nifty, 29 were in profit while 21 were in loss. Among the Sensex companies, Asian Paints, Titan, Larsen & Toubro, JSW Steel, ITC, Hindustan Unilever, Maruti and Reliance Industries were the major gainers. On the other hand, the loss making stocks include ICICI Bank, NTPC, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Tata Steel and Bajaj Finance.
