Disappointment among the people of Baramati
Sharad Pawar’s decision to step down as NCP president is no less than a shock for the people of Baramati city in Pune district of Maharashtra. They want their ‘saheb’ (Sharad Pawar) to continue leading the party. Baramati is called the stronghold of Sharad Pawar and his family. Pawar formed the NCP in 1999 after parting ways with the Congress. He has also been leading the party since then. He surprised everyone by announcing his resignation from the post of NCP chief at the launch event of the updated version of his autobiography ‘Lok Majhe Sangti’ in Mumbai on Tuesday.
Supriya Sule is getting request
The surprise announcement of Sharad Pawar as NCP chief was met with protest by party workers and leaders on Tuesday. Many of them were seen shedding tears, urging them to continue in office. Sharad Pawar’s daughter Supriya Sule has also received a similar request on Wednesday morning. A sanitation worker who met Supriya Sule, who was out for a walk on Wednesday morning, urged the veteran politician to reconsider his decision.
