Name came up for the first time in the murder of Rajeev Roshan
Osama Shahab, resident of Pratappur of Hussainganj police station and son of former MP Mohammad Shahabuddin, was first named in the murder of BJP leader Rajeev Roshan on June 16, 2014. Roshan was the only witness to the murder of his brothers Girish Raj and Satish Raj on 16 August 2004. During the investigation, the police dropped Osama’s name when the allegations against him were not found true. During that time, the matter of being made an accused under political pressure came to light. In defense, people from Osama’s side had also presented evidence of his being at the hill station at the time of the incident.

After seven years, the name of Osama, son of former MP Mohd Shahabuddin, was once again linked to the crime world on 5 April 2022. Osama’s name came up in this incident also. Police say that when the allegations were not found to be true during the investigation, the name was removed from the investigation.
Firing case in sister’s in-laws house Motihari
Police have registered a case against Osama for firing with carbine along with his associates in the ongoing dispute regarding land distribution in his sister’s in-laws house in Rani Kothi of Nagar police station area of Motihari district. In which the police have made Osama and his five associates accused. An FIR has also been registered against 100 unknown people in this incident. In the incident of August 3, 2023, Motihari police, along with the arrest of Aurangzeb of Siwan, also seized JCB and three other vehicles. In this case also, Motihari police is searching for Osama.

In this case, on October 9, 2023, apart from Osama, the police have registered an FIR against Mohd. Saif alias Salman, Avinash, resident of Bharatpura of GB Nagar police station area and Hrithik, resident of Sakra, and 40 to 50 unknown people.
