Ghaziabad : On the one hand, all the political parties have put their full strength to hoist their flag in the upcoming municipal elections in UP. On the other hand, on the instructions of the State Election Commission, the district administration has started finalizing its preparations. In the second phase, voting is to be held in 38 districts of UP including Kanpur, Aligarh and Ghaziabad. Voting will be held in Ghaziabad on May 11 for the civic elections.

A large number of vehicles will be needed for the elections, for this the district transport department will acquire school buses. That’s why children will not be able to go to school for two days, online classes will run in all schools. The District School Inspector has issued an order to conduct online education in schools for 2 days.

About 900 vehicles of private schools will be included in the election

Actually, voting will be held on May 11 in 8 bodies including Municipal Corporation in the district. For voting on May 9, more than 1500 buses will be parked at the polling center, including 900 vehicles from private schools. Ghaziabad Education Department has taken this decision to save the school children from the trouble due to lack of buses in schools. May 11 will be a holiday and all schools will remain closed for two days but online classes will run.

District School Inspector issued notice

The District School Inspector issued a notice and wrote that in the sequence of April 09, 2023, polling is scheduled to be held on May 11, 2023 in the second phase of Municipal General Elections 2023 in District Ghaziabad. In order to conduct the said election in a free, fair, peaceful and smooth manner and in view of traffic management, a request has been made to conduct online classes on May 09 and 10 in all the schools of district Ghaziabad.

Schools run online classes on 9 and 10 May

The notice is further written that all the managers/principals should ensure that online classes are conducted in their respective schools on 09th and 10th May. The order should be strictly followed. Let us tell you that elections will be held with EVMs in Municipal Corporation and Loni Municipality. For this, more than 10 thousand EVMs will be installed at polling stations. The second phase of voting will be held on May 11, while the results will come on May 13. This time 4.32 crore voters will vote. Earlier, in the elections held in the year 2017, 3.35 crore voters had cast their votes.
