Seraikela youth feared drowning in pond, local divers busy in search

Seraikela: There is a possibility of a young man drowning in the water while bathing in the pond of Urmal village of Chowka police station area under Seraikela-Kharsawan district. On receiving information about drowning in the pond, Chowka police and nearby people arrived and took information about the matter. When the drowned youth was not found till late evening, local and Jamshedpur divers were called and the pond was being searched. However, till now the divers have not been successful.

According to the information, the youth is 18 year old Raju Mandal alias (Panchu), resident of Jamshedpur Sonari. He had come to Udit Mandal’s house in Urmal on his niece’s birthday. Went to the pond to take bath around 1.30 pm on Wednesday afternoon. After that he did not come back. After which there is a possibility of his drowning in the pond.

At 1.30 in the day, Raju Mandal, a youth from Sonari, drowned in the pond while taking bath. The family members got information about this at around 3 o’clock in the day. After that Chowka police was informed about the incident. Chowka police station in-charge Shailendra Kumar Tudu, chief Bhim Singh Munda along with nearby villagers reached the pond and took information about the matter. Chowka police have called divers from Jamshedpur and are searching for the youth who drowned in the pond. However, the young man was not found till late evening.

After celebrating his niece’s birthday, he sent him home to his parents by bus.

Raju Mandal had come to Urmal village of Chauka on Tuesday with his family to celebrate his niece’s birthday. After celebrating his birthday, Raju Mandal sent his parents to Jamshedpur by bus on Wednesday morning. After that he went to the pond to take a bath at around 1.30 in the day and did not return after that.
