In the case of gang rape of a minor girl in Seraikela district, the court of ADJ-1 Amit Shekhar has sentenced three accused to life imprisonment. The names of those who have been sentenced to life imprisonment are Abhishek Kumar Mishra, Vijay Mukhi and Mahmood Ansari. On the basis of sufficient evidence, all of them have been sentenced to life imprisonment under the POCSO Act. The Seraikela court had convicted all three accused on 13 December. Hearing on sentencing points took place on Thursday (21 December). After this, all the accused were sentenced to life imprisonment. The fourth accused in this case is a minor. Therefore his case has been handed over to the Juvenile Court.

The three convicts convicted in the case of gang rape of a minor have been sentenced to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 25,000 under Section 6 of the POCSO Act. If the fine is not paid, the punishment will be additional imprisonment of two years.

Under Section 341, one month imprisonment and a fine of Rs 300 will have to be paid. If the fine is not paid, one will have to undergo additional imprisonment of three days.
