Seizure of Rs 20 lakh from a bike before Lok Sabha elections

Before the Lok Sabha elections, the Flying Squad team of the Election Commission has seized Rs 20 lakh cash from a bike during vehicle checking in Gopalganj. All bundles contain 500 notes. Actually, this cash was going to Siwan from Bhore police station area, when the police and FST team took action near Swareji Mor of Mirganj police station area and confiscated the cash.

After seizing the cash, the police and Election Commission team have detained the bike-riding youth and started questioning him. However, during the interrogation by the police and Election Commission team, a satisfactory answer could not be found regarding the cash.

It is being told that the bike without number plate was being taken to Siwan with Rs 20 lakh in the trunk. Whether this money was to be used in elections or it was being taken for the purpose of spending it in some business, no information has been revealed at this time.

At the same time, this case has now been handed over to the team of Income Tax Department and Expenditure Cell for further investigation. Officials of the Expenditure Cell of the Election Commission and the Income Tax Department have also started investigating the cash. Only after investigation will it be revealed what was the original purpose of taking the money.

Here SDPO Hathua, Anand Mohan Gupta told that such a huge amount was being taken from Bhore to Siwan. The Election Commission team is investigating this.
