Schools closed till January 18 in Uttar Pradesh

In Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, it has been announced that all schools up to class eight will be closed till January 18. Whereas for classes 9 to 12, schools will run from 10 am to 3 pm. In the order issued by the District Magistrate’s office, it was said that in view of the forecast and temperature of the Meteorological Department regarding cold wave in Lucknow district, holiday is declared till January 18 in all government and non-government schools up to class 8.

Classes 9 to 12 from 10 am to 3 pm

According to the order issued by the District Magistrate, classes will run from 10 am to 3 pm in all government and non-government schools. It has also been suggested to conduct classes through online mode as per convenience.

Guidelines issued

In schools from the District Magistrate Cold Guidelines have been issued for prevention. According to which it has been said that heaters will be used to maintain normal temperature in the classrooms to protect the students from cold.

There is a ban on making students sit in the open

Students have also been relieved from the obligation of wearing uniform. The District Magistrate has ordered that students will come to school only wearing warm clothes to protect themselves from cold. It has also been said in the order that this will be strictly followed in all schools.

Schools in Patna and Bhagalpur closed till 20 January

Cold and fog continue to wreak havoc in Bihari also. In view of the cold, holiday has been declared in all the schools of Patna and Bhagalpur districts till January 20. The order has been issued only up to class 8th.

Cold wave in Jharkhand, Kullu of Chatra district 1.2 degrees Celsius

Winter continues in Jharkhand and the minimum temperature recorded in Kullu of Chatra district on Monday was 1.2 degrees Celsius, which is the lowest temperature of this season in the state. In most of the districts of Jharkhand, the temperature was recorded below 10 degrees Celsius on Monday, while in eight districts the temperature remained below five degrees Celsius. Ranchi Meteorological Center in-charge Abhishek Anand said that similar weather is expected across the state for the next two days. He said, after January 16, there is a possibility of a gradual increase in the minimum temperature by three to four degrees.

Dense fog in many parts of Punjab and Haryana

Severe cold wave conditions prevailed in Punjab and Haryana on Tuesday and the minimum temperature was recorded at minus 0.4 degree Celsius in Ballowal Saunkhari of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district. Dense fog was seen at many places including Mohali, Patiala and Fatehgarh Sahib.

Cold wave hits Kashmir, temperature below freezing point

Amid the cold wave in Kashmir, the minimum temperature in many parts fell several degrees below the freezing point. The temperature in Srinagar city was recorded at minus 4.6 degrees Celsius on Monday night, which was minus 4.3 degrees Celsius the night before.
