SBI ATM cut with gas cutter in Gopalganj, more than Rs 23 lakh taken away, SP formed SIT for investigation

In Gopalganj, fearless criminals, challenging the police, once again cut the ATM machine of State Bank of India with a gas cutter and stole Rs 23 lakh 51 thousand 600. The incident took place near Naraniya SBI branch of Mirganj police station area. There was an ATM center below the bank branch. People of the area were stunned after getting information about the incident on Thursday morning.

DM and SP also reached the spot

As soon as the bank officials received information about the incident, they reached the spot and saw that the shutter of the ATM was cut. After this, the police of Mirganj police station was informed about the incident. After receiving the information, the police reached the spot and started investigation. DM Mohd. Maqsood Alam and SP Swarn Prabhat also reached the spot and investigated the matter. SP said that soon the criminals will be arrested and the cash will be recovered, for this an SIT is being formed and raids are being conducted.

Engineer’s team called to extract CCTV footage

It is said that the criminals carried out the incident by cutting the ATM machine with a gas cutter at 4 am on Thursday. Thieves have taken out more than Rs 23.5 lakh kept in the ATM. A team of engineers has been called by the bank to remove the CCTV footage installed in the ATM machine.

SIT formed for investigation

On the other hand, SP Swarn Prabhat has taken the incident of cash theft from ATM seriously and has formed SIT under the leadership of SDPO Hathua to arrest the criminals. According to the information, apart from Gopalganj, thieves have also committed similar crimes in Chhapra and Vaishali.

What did the bank manager say?

Ali Abbas Khan, branch manager of SBI Naraniya branch, said that when he reached the bank on February 2, he saw that the shutter of the ATM was cut. After which this information was given to the police. After the police arrived, when they looked inside, they found that the ATM had been cut with a gas cutter and money had been withdrawn. When the ATM was checked, it was found that Rs 23 lakh 52 thousand 600 had been stolen from the ATM machine.
