Sawan 6th Monday 2023: Today is the sixth Monday of the month of Sawan. Till now some five Monday fasts have been observed in Sawan. Today is the sixth Monday of the month of Sawan and the last Monday of Adhikamas. The month of Sawan is considered best to please Lord Shiva. The month of Sawan is dedicated to Bholenath. Every Monday that falls in Sawan has a different significance. This year, a total of 8 Mondays are falling in Sawan, out of which five Mondays have passed. The sixth Monday is 14th August i.e. today. Lord Shiva is worshiped on Sawan Monday. From early morning Shiva devotees go to the temples and offer milk, water and belpatra to the Shivling. It is a religious belief that if a devotee observes Sawan Somvar fast with a true heart and worships Lord Bholenath, then Mahadev is pleased. Sawan Monday Pooja Samagri

Flowers, five fruits, five nuts, gems, gold, silver, dakshina, worship utensils, Kushasan, curd, pure desi ghee, honey, Ganges water, holy water, panch juice, perfume, smell roli, molly Take Janeu, Panch Mishthan, Bilvapatra, Dhatura, Bhang, Plum, Amr Manjari, Mandar flower, raw milk of cow, camphor, incense, lamp, cotton, Malayagiri, sandalwood, make up materials of Shiva and Mother Parvati.

  • Wake up early in the morning on Sawan Monday and take bath and after that do Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva.

  • Along with Lord Shiva, offer Gangajal or milk to Goddess Parvati and Nandi as well.

  • Do Rudrabhishek with Panchamrit and offer bel patra.

  • Offer Dhatura, hemp, potato, sandalwood, rice on Shivling. After this apply Tilak to Mother Parvati and Ganesh ji along with Shiv ji.

  • Offer ghee-sugar as prasad to Lord Shiva.

  • At the end, perform aarti of Lord Bholenath with incense and lamp and keep remembering Lord Shiva by eating fruits for the whole day.
