He said that the Water Resources Department’s plan for the development and beautification of Simaria Tirtha includes the construction of a staircase ghat of about 550 meters length between the existing Rajendra bridge and the six-lane road bridge under construction to its south, and development of the river front, besides a changing room, The place of Ganga Aarti, pavilion for religious rituals, seating arrangement for devotees, Dharamshala, toilet complex, open air theatre, park, parking, pathway, administrative building, watch tower and lighting arrangements etc. have been included. A target has been set to complete all these works by June 2024.

Religious tourism expected to increase

Sanjay Kumar Jha said that every year a large number of devotees have been coming to Simaria Tirth not only from Mithila, but also from Bihar and neighboring states as well as Nepal. After the development of facilities, the devotees coming here will have a pleasant experience. This will develop religious tourism here and create many types of business and employment opportunities including hotels and transportation in the surrounding areas.
