Patna. The fate of one and a half dozen Bihar BJP leaders may be decided on Sunday. BJP State President cum Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha are going to Delhi on Saturday evening, where they will meet senior BJP leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, National President JP Nadda.
Appointments are to be made on many posts
It is believed that in this meeting with senior leaders, BJP ministers, their portfolios, two members of Rajya Sabha, Assembly Speaker and State Speaker as well as the ruling parties in both houses of Bihar Legislature will be present in this meeting with senior leaders. There will be discussion on the names of Whips and Deputy Whips from BJP. According to the information, these names have been discussed in the election committee meeting of Bihar BJP and the central leadership has been authorized for the final decision. Now the Central Election Committee will approve the names of the leaders to be elected to these posts.
There will be discussion on the names of Minister, Assembly Speaker, Rajya Sabha and State President
It is known that in the JDU-BJP government formed in 2020, 16 BJP ministers were made. In the re-formed government of this alliance, three BJP ministers Samrat Chaudhary, Vijay Sinha and Prem Kumar have taken oath. The posts of at least 13 ministers from BJP quota are still vacant. Along with this, BJP is also to get the chair of Assembly Speaker under the alliance. Names of many senior BJP leaders are being floated for this.
One Rajya Sabha seat may go to an ally party
At the same time, names for two Rajya Sabha seats also have to be approved. Of these, one seat was given as a bonus due to the end of the tenure of former Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, while the other seat was given as per numerical strength. If sources are to be believed, BJP will field its candidate from one seat, while NDA will give it to its ally from the other seat. Either Jitan Ram Manjhi or Upendra Kushwaha can be made the candidate from this seat. After making Samrat Chaudhary the leader of the BJP Legislative Party and Deputy Chief Minister, the chair of BJP State President has also become vacant. This post can also be filled by a new person.
Cabinet expansion may take place on Monday
Apart from these posts, there are some posts which have to be filled. They hold the post of Whip and Deputy Chief Whip in both the Houses of the Legislature. The names also have to be approved for the post of Whip-Deputy Whip of the ruling party. If BJP sources are to be believed, if everything goes well, the new form of Bihar government can become clear after the return of both the Deputy Chief Ministers. Possibly the cabinet may be reconstituted by organizing a swearing-in ceremony on Monday. If there is any conflict, the date of cabinet formation may get postponed.
