OpenAI Latest News: The news coming out of the OpenAI office that created ChatGPIT over the past week can only be described as dramatic and chaotic. Believe me, the twists that are coming in the story that started after the firing of CEO Sam Altman and Greg Brockman are no less than Ekta Kapoor’s serial.
After both were fired, Mira Muratti was appointed as interim CEO, but she also did not last long as she was replaced by former Twitch CEO Emmett Shearer. But that too did not last long.
A threatening e-mail followed from over 500 employees at OpenAI asking the board to resign and bring back Altman or they would all resign and move to Microsoft. Sam Altman brought back to OpenAI with Greg Brockman. Amazingly all this was done in just one week.
The top level drama is not over yet. Shortly after Sam Altman was reappointed CEO of the most popular AI venture of the time, the board that was responsible for removing Altman in the first place was replaced.
Following the board’s chaotic actions over the past few days, employees at California-based OpenAI took matters into their own hands. As previously reported, more than 500 employees threatened to resign, signaling a revolt against the board.
Currently, only Quora CEO Adam D’Angelo remains on the board. Media reports suggest that he will soon be joined by ex-Salesforce co-CEO Brett Taylor and former US Treasury Secretary and Harvard University president Larry Summers.
According to the report of Wall Street Journal, apart from him, there may be six new additional members in the OpenAI board. The report further stated that neither Sam Altman nor Greg Brockman would return as board members. It will be interesting to see how the story continues now in the OpenAI office.
