Prabhas’ Salaar, directed by Prashant Neel, is making waves in theatres. Directed by Prashanth Neel, Kannada origin mass action film ‘Salaar’ was released in theaters on 22 December. The film stars Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran and Shruti Haasan in lead roles and the music is composed by Ravi Basrur. The film received a lot of positive response after its release and is performing well at the box office. Shahrukh Khan’s Dinky was released on 21st December. There were a lot of expectations about the film, but Rajkumar Hirani’s movie did not perform well in theatres. Its earnings are looking quite sluggish.

Salaar earned Rs 176 crore on the first day, which gradually reduced to Rs 103 crore on the second day and earned Rs 76 crore on the third day and Rs 48 crore on the fourth day.

Dunki earned Rs 29.2 crore on the first day in theatres, but saw a decline on the second day and earned Rs 20.12 crore. However, the film gained momentum on Saturday and earned Rs 25.61 crore, and reached its peak on Sunday, as it earned even more than its opening day. The Sunday collection of the film was Rs 30.7 crore. On Monday, the film got the benefit of holiday and earned Rs 24.32 crore. The total earning of director Rajkumar Hirani’s comedy drama in India is Rs 140.20 crore.

Dinky is Shahrukh’s third film this year after ‘Pathan’ and ‘Jawaan’. The film has crossed the Rs 250 crore mark worldwide and within a week its total earning has reached Rs 256.40 crore. Metro cities appear to be the primary revenue generators for Dunki. The film, starring Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal, received an overall Hindi occupancy of 22.28 percent, with the highest viewership recorded during the evening show.
