Sahibganj SP entangled in these questions of ED, will be interrogated again today

Ranchi: Sahibganj SP Naushad Alam, who had arranged for the visit of Vijay Hansda to Delhi, who is under the ambit of CBI investigation, remained entangled in questions related to property. He has been called again on Wednesday for questioning on other issues including his involvement in a conspiracy to instigate an ED witness. In the light of the second summons issued by ED, Sahibganj SP appeared at the ED’s Ranchi regional office for questioning at the scheduled time on Tuesday. In the first phase of interrogation, a form was given to him by the ED to give information about his assets.

This form contained questions related to his and his family members’ income and assets. He remained entangled for a long time in giving written answers to these questions. Some questions related to property were not immediately answered. He said that he would answer these questions later. After answering the questions in the form related to property information, ED officials interrogated them on the basis of the answers given by them. Apart from this, he was also interrogated in connection with various complaints received against him. In some complaint letters received by ED, it has been mentioned that Naushad Alam had purchased property in the name of his in-laws.

In the first summons, ED had asked him to appear on November 22.

The ED had sent summons to Sahibganj SP Naushad Alam on charges of being involved in a conspiracy to instigate its witness Vijay Hansda and arranging tickets to travel to Delhi and directed him to appear on November 22. But Naushad Alam asked for time, citing the need to seek opinion from senior officials. However, no time limit was mentioned. Rejecting this request, the ED issued a second summons on the same day and directed to appear on 28th November. In the light of this summons, he appeared for questioning on Tuesday.
