Sahibganj: Dhanteras preparations in full swing, business worth Rs 15 crore expected in the district

Sahibganj: A business of about Rs 15 crore is being expected in the district on the festival of lights, Diwali and Dhanteras. Dhanteras is on Friday in the district. Showroom operators and shopkeepers have expressed hope of purchasing around Rs 15 crore. Good shopping is expected from bike showrooms and automobiles to electronic goods, jewellery, furniture and utensils. Dozens of shopkeepers from the city’s Chowk Bazaar, Gandhi Chowk, Patel Chowk, Banta Road, Station Chowk, Green Hotel, College Road, Chaiti Durga Road, East Gate, Jirwabari have decorated their shops like brides for Dhanteras. Jewellery, utensils, electronics, furniture, idol shops are decorated by putting up pandals outside the road. Under the automobile market, advance booking of 47 cars has been done so far in the outlet showrooms of four car companies. So far, advance booking of 370 bikes and scooters has been done on Dhanteras. The target is to sell about 750 bikes and scooties of various companies here on Dhanteras. Booking has been done for 20 bikes of Bajaj company, 50 of TVS, 150 of Honda and 150 of Hero.

Helping Hands distributed clothes, sweets and lamps

The annual clothes donation camp was organized on Thursday under the joint aegis of Helping Hands NGO of Sahibganj city and Sevarth Vidyarthi Sahibganj Nagar. The program is organized every year since 2019 to distribute clothes, sweets and lamps in remote rural areas of the society. In this, people from different localities of NAP area contributed a lot and donated clothes. On Thursday, clothes, sweets and lamps were distributed among the Pahadia tribal brothers in Chhota Panchrukhi village of Borio block area. NGO President Abhidipash said that people devote their whole heart and soul to welcome Lord Ganesha and Mother Lakshmi. At the same time, children are eager for delicious dishes and crackers. On the occasion, social worker and member of Helping Hands, Shubham Tiwari, serving students of Jharkhand province, provincial co-convenor Kumar Deepanshu and Helping Hands and ABVP Indrojit Sah, Avinash Sah, Nyasha Bharti, Payal, Palak Keshari, Anant Kumar Sinha, Chandan Kumar Gupta, Helping Hands. President Abhidipash Prashant Sagar was present.
