Rules of admission in PhD will change in Gorakhpur University, Vice Chancellor formed high level committee

Vice Chancellor of Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University, Prof. Vice Chancellor Prof. Poonam Tandon has constituted a five-member high level committee to prepare a new PhD ordinance. Students who score 75 percent or more marks in a four-year graduation course will be eligible for direct admission to PhD. For this they will not have to take post graduation degree. Meritorious students will have more opportunities for admission in PhD. This will increase interest among students towards research.

The admission process will also be reviewed

The admission process in Gorakhpur University (DDU) is also being reviewed. Vice Chancellor Prof. Poonam Tandon has formed a high level committee for this also. This time, this decision has been taken in view of repeated flaws in the admission process. The review committee constituted will review and give its suggestions on reforms related to the admission criteria and allocation of weightage for applicants seeking admission to various educational programmes. The committee will consist of Dean Law Faculty, Dean Arts Faculty, Dean Commerce Faculty, Dean Science Faculty and Dean Student Welfare. The committee will also have a student representative nominated by the Vice-Chancellor and one other nominated member.
