A special crowd of devotees gather here on the birth anniversary of Maharishi Mehi and Guru Purnima. Kuppaghat Ashram has a garden where some events related to the Ramayana story are depicted in the form of sculptures. A lot of efforts were made to reconstruct and beautify this ashram but there was strong opposition to it. There was protest against tampering with Guru Sthan. Maharshi Menhi Ashram of Bhagalpur has a very old history. It is said that this ashram was established in 1960.
