To apply for SI posts, the candidate must have a graduation degree in any subject from any recognized educational institution. To apply for constable posts, one must have passed 10th from any recognized board. To apply for Sub Inspector posts, the age of the candidate should be between 20 to 28 years. Whereas, for constable posts the age should be between 18 years to 28 years.

Candidates are selected in Railway Protection Force on the basis of Computer Based Test (CBT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Standard Test (PET), Verification of Certificates (DV), Medical Examination (ME), etc. .
