Rourkela: Shopkeepers selling vegetables on roadside, sheds useless

Rourkela News: Vegetable shops are set up daily in Sector-19 Ispat Haat and Gajapati Market vegetable market of Ispatanchal. But due to lack of electricity facility in Ispat Haat, market is not held here in the evening. Due to which vegetable vendors used to sell vegetables sitting on both sides of the road of Sector-19 Gajapati Market in the evening a few days ago. A few days ago, this market was shifted to a permanent place behind Gajapati Market. Due to lack of publicity, most of the customers are not aware about the shifted vegetable market. Due to which very few customers are coming here. Due to which the vegetable vendors are having to bear the loss. Apart from this, a shed was constructed by Rourkela Steel Plant for vegetable vendors in Sector-19 Ispat Haat (Jharkhand Market). But in a few of these sheds, some potato and onion traders sit, while the rest of the sheds remain empty.

Traders like to sit on the ground and roadside

The vegetable vendors here prefer to sit on the ground and on the roadside, but hardly any vegetable vendor sits under the shed. There was a discussion about this that by making proper electricity arrangements in Ispat Haat, the vegetable vendors sitting on the road in Gajapati Market would be brought and made to sit here in the evening. But this did not happen. Rather, arrangements have been made by casting concrete behind Gajapati Market for these vegetable vendors to sit there in the evening. But, no board or information board has been installed here to show that the evening vegetable market in Gajapati Market has been shifted to the back of the market. Keeping this in mind, a need is felt to provide information about the place where this market will be shifted and to make arrangements for vegetable vendors to sell vegetables by sitting under the shed built in Ispat Haat.
