Rishikesh: More than 100 laborers stranded in Karnprayag railway project, waterlogged situation due to heavy rains

Due to waterlogging in a tunnel of the railway project in Rishikesh’s Karnaprayag, more than a hundred laborers are trapped. This situation has arisen due to heavy rains. It is being told that SDRF personnel are present on the spot and rescue work is going on.

20 people were rescued

It has been raining heavily in Uttarakhand in the last 24 hours, due to which incidents of waterlogging and landslides are happening here. SDRF team has taken out 20 people trapped after waterlogging. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said on Monday that the Chardham Yatra has been postponed for two days in view of heavy rains in the state.

Torrential rain became the cause of trouble

In a meeting with the high officials of the state, the Chief Minister said that in view of the torrential rains and the situation arising out of it, the Char Dham Yatra has been postponed for two days. During this, he has appealed to all the devotees to travel only after seeing the weather forecast. The torrential rains in Uttarakhand have made life unusual. The Chief Minister has instructed the District Magistrates to keep the district administration and all teams engaged in relief and rescue work in alert mode for 24 hours.
