The reservation counters will remain open 24 hours so that the passengers returning after Chhath festival do not face any kind of problem. Additionally, additional Chhath special trains will be run and if needed, extra rakes will also be called from Delhi. This is what Anil Kumar Khandelwal, General Manager of East Central Railway, has to say. On Monday, the next day of Chhath, GM had reached Patna Junction, where he took stock of the passenger facilities provided by PUMRE on the occasion of Chhath festival.
Khandelwal told that a war room of officers has been made at the junction, where he himself is monitoring it in real time. GM took stock of crowd management, cleanliness, passenger safety and other facilities. He took feedback from the passengers and directed the officers to remain constantly alert for passenger facilities. He told that passengers returning after celebrating Chhath are being given free food packets and water bottles.
This arrangement will continue for a few days. GM also appealed to the passengers not to carry inflammable substances during the journey. A team of Railway Protection Force has been formed to keep a special watch on those traveling with inflammable substances and smoking beedis and cigarettes in trains.
After Chhath, the process of people returning to Delhi, Mumbai or other cities has started. Due to this, a large number of people have started coming to Patna Junction. Regarding this, there will be no parking of four-wheelers at Patna Junction from Monday to 27th November. Also, a holding area has been created at Patna Junction for pick and drop of passengers. Four wheelers will come to the same holding area and drop the passengers or leave immediately after boarding.
Whereas two wheelers or three wheelers coming from GPO Golambar towards Patna Junction carrying passengers will go to the parking lot towards the north. Will return after dropping the passengers there. Two-wheelers can be parked in the junction premises by paying a fee, while there has been no change in the traffic arrangement at Karbigahiya end. The decision to maintain this arrangement till November 27 was taken in a meeting with DRM, RPF officials and Traffic SP.
