Release the results of successful candidates in JRF, UGC NET and entrance examination separately, order of the Governor in Jharkhand

Ranchi, Sanjeev Singh: Governor cum Chancellor CP Radhakrishnan has directed to bring uniformity in PhD entrance examination, result, merit list and enrollment in all the government universities of the state. Under this, all universities have been ordered to conduct PhD entrance examination, result, merit list and enrollment process as per UGC Regulation-2022. On the orders of the Governor, Principal Secretary Dr. Nitin Madan Kulkarni has sent a letter to the Vice Chancellors/Incharge Vice Chancellors of all the universities, directing them to follow the said order in letter and spirit. The Governor has asked the university to issue advertisements for the PhD entrance examination. Also release the vacant seat of PhD along with the qualified supervisor available in the concerned subject in the said academic session. The Vice Chancellor has also been told that the written entrance examination will be of total 100 marks. In this, questions of 70 marks will be of multiple choice. In which 50 marks will be based on research methodology and 20 marks will be based on related subject/analytical skills. Whereas 30 marks will be for short presentation related to research design/scholar idea. All universities have been asked to release the list of JRF/NET passed candidates and candidates passed in PhD entrance examination separately under UGC Regulation 2022.

  • Release of separate results for candidates who have passed JRF/NET and those who have passed the entrance exam.

  • Out of total 100 marks, 50 marks will be related to research methodology and 20 marks will be related to subject.

  • Whereas 30 marks will be given in short presentation on research design/idea.

The process of making UGC Regulation 2022 is under process in Jharkhand.

The process of preparing PhD UGC Regulation-2022 is currently going on in all the government universities of the state. The Directorate of Higher Education under the Department of Higher and Technical Education had sent a letter to the Registrars of all the universities asking them to pass the UGC (Minimum Standard and Procedure for the Award of PhD) Regulation 2022 from their universities as per the rules and make it available to the Directorate. So that further action can be taken. Whereas even after a year, many universities have not passed the regulations as per the rules and made it available to the directorate. As a result, universities are conducting PhD entrance examinations on the basis of previously prepared rules.
