The Patna High Court has ordered the Bihar Pharmacy Council to register pharmacist students within two weeks. Justice Rajiv Ranjan Prasad’s single bench, while hearing the writ petition filed on behalf of 30 students, said that the students cannot be allowed to bear the brunt of the mistake of the department. The court said that if the council fails to register, then the Bihar Technical Commission should accept the application of the students for Pharmacist reinstatement.
Date of submission of application till May 5
On behalf of the students, advocate Shashi Bhushan Singh told the court that an advertisement has been taken out for the reinstatement of 1539 pharmacists in the state. According to which the application has to be submitted by May 5. The court was told that the registration of the pharmacist is not being done for the last seven months. Registration of students was not done due to monitoring investigation against the then registrar. Due to lack of registration, students are not able to apply.
Applications of 5000 students are lying with the Pharmacy Council
Experts say that during a year, the applications of about five thousand pharmacy students are lying with the Pharmacy Council. They have not been investigated. Coincidentally, the advertisement for the appointment of 1539 pharmacists has also been issued in the state. Due to lack of registration, these students will be deprived. There is a condition in the qualification issued in the advertisement that it is mandatory for the applying candidate to be registered in the Bihar Pharmacy Council. Last Thursday in the meeting of the Pharmacy Council, the first agenda was kept that the registration of the students should be started. Everything has come to a standstill due to the absence of a permanent registrar.
Could not start registration
Bihar State Pharmacy Council member Arjesh Raj Srivastava told that all the council members have entrusted the registrar with the responsibility of starting the registration several times after the elections. Registration has not started yet. The work of registration is done by the registrar. There is no role in the registration of council members. Before registration, the documents of the applicant are verified by the registrar from their university or board. Only after verification, the Pharmacist Registration of the applicant is issued by the Registrar.
