The year of teacher appointment is 2023

Candidates from other states came to get teacher jobs in Bihar. The fortunes of more than 80 thousand government schools in the state now seem to be changing. On one hand, the shortage of teachers for about 2 crore children studying in these government schools has been fulfilled, while on the other hand, on the instructions of Additional Chief Secretary KK Pathak, the Education Department is making many major changes to improve the system of schools. The government has now tried to resolve this complaint by handing over the command of appointment to BPSC.

More than two lakh teachers selected in Bihar

More than 1.25 lakh teachers were selected in October 2023. On November 2, 2023, appointment letters were distributed to teachers by CM Nitish Kumar at Gandhi Maidan in Patna. After deploying 1.25 lakh teachers in schools, the government again carried out bumper recruitment and selected more than 90 thousand new teachers. On January 13, 2024, appointment letters were distributed to 94052 teachers. Bihar has created a new history by reinstatement of more than two lakh teachers in two phases.

Now back on track student:teacher ratio

There has been a huge increase in the number of teachers in Bihar. Earlier, from 2006-07 to 2018-19, there were a total of 3,19,700 panchayat and city teachers in primary schools in the state. Whereas in 2022, 42 thousand primary teachers were appointed. Now after the appointment of more than two lakh BPSC teachers, the student: teacher ratio in the state has become 35:1. Which is equal to the national student:teacher ratio. Before the appointment of two lakh teachers it was 45:1. Whereas in the year 2005 this ratio was 65:1. The special thing is that these newly appointed teachers have been posted in government schools in rural areas. More than 50 percent of the total selected teachers are women.

Command handed over to KK Pathak

To improve the system of government schools in Bihar, tough-tempered IAS officer KK Pathak was brought to the post of Additional Chief Secretary.
