Re-investigation of Lemon Pahad illegal mining case begins, CBI reaches Sahibganj to investigate ED’s witness Vijay Hansda case.

Ranchi: A three-member CBI team reached Sahibganj on Friday to mislead ED witness and head of Lemon Pahad Vijay Hansda, who is investigating illegal mining worth Rs 1000 crore, and to gather information about the case registered in ST-SC police station. After reaching here, the team raced throughout the day to gather facts. The team reached the court thrice on Friday and searched many documents from the record room.

According to the information, the CBI team left the Circuit House at around 10:15 in the morning and reached the ADJ Court. Here the team members collected many information about the case registered in the AC-ST police station and returned to the circuit house. At 12:20 pm the team members again reached the court and from there they went directly to the PP office located in Old CJM Bhawan and investigated the case registered in the concerned ST-SC police station of Vijay Hansda.

At 3:10 pm the team once again reached the ADJ court and for about 30 minutes the team members again collected many documents. Sources say that the arrival of CBI is mainly in connection with the case registered in ST-SC police station of ED witness Vijay Hansda.

The investigation was conducted for five days in August

It is noteworthy that 92 days ago, on August 24, the CBI team had stayed in Sahibganj for five days and investigated the same case. Here, Pankaj Mishra, who is in jail on charges of money laundering, had challenged in the Supreme Court the order of CBI investigation given by the High Court in the case of illegal mining on Lemon Mountain. On the other hand, Vijay Hansda had also filed a petition, in which it was said that the signature made by him on the Vakalatnama for filing the bail petition has been misused. Instead of filing the bail petition with the help of this Vakalatnama, a demand was made to investigate the FIR registered by another agency. On hearing this, a CBI investigation was ordered in the High Court.

Saw the final report of SDPO

The police had filed the final report in the case lodged by Lemon Pahad head Vijay Hansda in the SC-ST police station regarding illegal mining. According to the information received, in this case the police had recorded the statement of informant Vijay Hansda in the SDJM court under section 164. After this, SDPO Rajendra Dubey, after investigation, submitted the final report on 26 October 2023, finding the incident untrue. In his statement, Vijay Hansda has said that he does not know about the case. Ashok Yadav, who is Mungeri Lal’s man, got the signatures on the paper. He has no knowledge about illegal mining. The CBI team reviewed that record and returned.
