Delhi Meerut Rapid Rail RapidX : Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to inaugurate India’s first Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) on October 20. He will inaugurate the 17 km long priority section on Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor in Ghaziabad. Ghaziabad’s Vasundhara Prime Minister Narendra Modi will become the first passenger by purchasing the first ticket of Rapid Rail. Ghaziabad administration and NCRTC are busy in preparations. In the first phase, rapid rail service is going to be started from Sahibabad to Duhai, which is about 17 kilometers long. During this time, this train will stop at 5 stations, which are Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai and Duhai Terminal. The Delhi-Meerut RRTS, when completed in 2025, will cover the distance of 82 kilometers in just one hour’s time. RRTS is being developed by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC). It is a joint venture of the Government of India and the state governments of Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. According to sources, the fare of Rapid Rail (RapidX) is within the reach of every man after much deliberation. The fare will be made public any time. It can be two to two and a half rupees per kilometer. Initially, RapidX will run between Sahibabad and Duhai at an interval of 15 minutes.
