Ranchi: Student dies under suspicious circumstances in St. John’s School Hostel, Mandar

Mandar: A student named Yuvraj Paswan (14) died under suspicious circumstances on Sunday evening in the hostel of Saint John’s High School located in Navatand police station area. He was a student of class eight at St. John’s School. Yuvraj was a resident of Kanshi Kewal under Hunterganj police station area of ​​Chatra district. The school management says that Yuvraj committed suicide by jumping into the well located in the hostel premises on Sunday evening. Whereas the family members allege that an attempt is being made to murder Yuvraj Paswan and make it look like suicide. On receiving information about the incident, Mandar police took possession of the student’s body on Monday and sent it to RIMS for post-mortem. On behalf of the family, an application has been filed to register an FIR against hostel in-charge Brother Rajesh Barla, headmaster Brother Subodh Kachhap and two other classmates of Yuvraj on charges of murder of Yuvraj Paswan.

Was studying in hostel since class 3:

According to the application, Yuvraj Paswan (father Subhash Paswan) was studying in St. John’s High School since class three, staying in the hostel. Vivekananda Kumar, brother of the deceased student, told that Brother Rajesh of St. John’s High School called him at around 10 pm on Sunday night and asked him to reach school soon. When asked the reason he did not tell anything. He called again on Monday morning and told that his brother Yuvraj Paswan had committed suicide by jumping into the well located in the hostel premises on Sunday night. After this he reached Mandar along with other people from Chatra.

By then the body had been brought to Mandar police station. According to Vivekananda Kumar, he also studied till matriculation while staying in the hostel of St. John’s School. The well in the hostel premises where people are said to have committed suicide by jumping is covered with a thick iron net. His brother was completely fine. He was brought from home after Durga Puja and dropped in the hostel. Here, Mandar police has also confirmed that the well located in the hostel is covered with an iron mesh. Police said that only after the post mortem report comes, it will be known whether the student has committed suicide or was murdered.

What do the hostel in-charge and the headmaster say about the matter: In the matter, the hostel in-charge Brother Rajesh Barla and the headmaster Brother Subodh Kachhap said that on Sunday evening, after keeping the hostel students engaged in studies, they had gone for prayer. Meanwhile, Yuvraj had gone out with one of his classmates, saying that he was going to Laghushanka. Shortly after this, his classmate returned and told that Yuvraj Paswan had jumped into the well. After this, a search was started by digging in the well. After some time, his clothes were caught due to the scuffle and Yuvraj Paswan was taken out and taken to a private dispensary, but before that he had died.

The student’s body has been sent to RIMS for post-mortem. Whether the student has been murdered or whether it is a case of suicide can be said only after the post mortem report comes. The police are keeping an eye on the entire matter.
