People’s anger erupted after the death on Thursday of a person injured in a road accident that took place late on Wednesday evening near Madanagundi Petrol Pump on Ranchi-Patna Road in Chandwara police station area of Koderma district. Local people blocked the road and pelted stones, in which a policeman also got injured. People damaged the government vehicle.
Seven other people were injured in the accident that occurred late Wednesday evening. Everyone has been admitted to different hospitals. After the death of a person in the accident, after the body was brought back from Ranchi for post-mortem, the angry family members and local people blocked the Ranchi-Patna road near Jamu Bay on Thursday.
The police administration had to work hard to remove the road jam from around 3:45 pm. When the police increased pressure to disperse the crowd, people started pelting stones. The police dispersed the crowd by lathicharge, but Chandwara police station in-charge Arvind Kumar and another policeman Rajesh Kumar were injured in stone pelting. The police station in-charge has suffered a head injury.
On Thursday night at around 7.30 pm, SDO Riya Singh, SDPO Jitvahan Oraon and heavy police force reached the spot. After this the jam could be removed. The station in-charge was treated in a private hospital in Tilaiya. Many government vehicles were also damaged in stone pelting.

The person who lost his life in the road accident has been identified as 50 year old Fulangi Singh, father of Late Budhan Singh, resident of Jamu Khadi. It is said that people of the same family from Jamu Bay had gone to their relative’s place in Domchanch in an auto (JH-12G-1465). After participating in the program from there, everyone was returning by auto.
Meanwhile, a vehicle slightly hit an auto near the petrol pump in Madanagundi and ran away. After this, the car coming from behind hit the auto hard. Due to this, the passengers in the auto were Rameshwar Singh, Birju Singh father late Karu Singh, Fulangi Singh father late Budhan Singh, Budhani Devi husband Rameshwar Singh, Yashoda Devi husband Arjun Ghatwar, Meghani Devi husband Kanhai Singh, Sudama Devi husband Fulangi Singh, Sapna Kumari father Bhagi Singh. Got injured.
Chandwara police station in-charge Arvind Kumar, who reached the spot after receiving information about the incident, and with the help of local people, the injured were sent to the hospital. Three people including seriously injured Fulangi Singh were referred to RIMS, Ranchi. Fulangi Singh died in RIMS in the morning. As soon as the body reached Chandwara after the post-mortem, angry people blocked Ranchi-Patna road in Jamu vehicle.

Demand for proper compensation, action against the company doing road construction
People were demanding fair compensation and action against the company doing the four-lane construction work. Due to the jam, there was a queue of vehicles for several kilometers. People got worried. On receiving information about the road jam, Chandwara zonal officer Ashok Kumar Bharti and others reached the spot. Tried to convince the angry people, but people did not agree.
Meanwhile, the police lathicharged, after which people started pelting stones. The station in-charge and another policeman were injured in this. Later, SDO and SDPO reached the spot and pacified the people and got the jam cleared.
The villagers alleged that apart from the negligence of the car driver, this accident happened due to the negligence of the contractor of the company building the four-lane road. Accidents are happening every day due to construction company Ram Kripal Singh Construction not giving diversion signals at many places. At many places, accidents keep happening due to the poor condition of the roads. Many people have lost their lives because of this.
