Ranchi: In order to provide open spaces for the common people to play and walk inside the city, Ranchi Municipal Corporation spent crores of rupees and built parks at various places in the city. But due to lack of maintenance, the condition of the parks is becoming dilapidated day by day. The latest case is related to five parks of the city. The park has been constructed here, but due to the operator not being selected, the park is still locked. As a result, the city residents are not getting the benefits of these parks.
Veer Kunwar Singh Park located in Harmu was inaugurated by CM Hemant Soren on 25 April. During this, the CM had said that the city is turning into a concrete jungle. In such a situation, we should try to promote greenery in the city. Today, it has been six months since the inauguration of this park, but till now it is locked. As a result, people come here to visit and stroll, but they have to return empty handed. An amount of Rs 1.50 crore was spent in the construction of this park.
Bushes grew in the park due to lack of maintenance: A park has also been constructed near the residence of MLA CP Singh. But due to lack of maintenance, bushes have grown. This park also remains locked throughout the day. This causes a lot of disappointment to the people around. An amount of Rs 20 lakh was spent on this park.
Loknayak Jaiprakash Narayan Park has been constructed at a cost of crores in Harmu Housing Colony of Ward No. 25. There is also a food court with a swing for children to play. But this park has been locked for the last several months. When the people of the city come here for a walk, they feel disappointed. An amount of Rs 1.10 crore was spent on its beautification.
Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Park was beautified at Nyaya Path in Harmu with the funds of MP Sanjay Seth. It was inaugurated on 18 October 2022. To open the closed parks for the general public, we corresponded with the corporation officials several times. But the officers remain in their own lane. As a result, due to lack of maintenance, these parks are gradually turning into junk.
